KHDA BANNER

Not a course, nor a program. This is a 6-hour cross-fit intervention involving and causing a completely, dramatically different, and alternative way in approaching leadership in 2021. A systemic way of unpacking and making sense of the relation between disruption, economic fragility, governments, and the rise of free trading digital markets through the rise of exabyte economy. The intervention takes a critical look at how little a disruption like COVID-19 contributes to the current world of imbalances we experience, and how organisational leadership stands much more central to events unfolding globally. It is an intervention designed for Business Leaders who want to move beyond the equipped competencies of typical Leadership Development Program, challenging the current way of the world.

TOPIC 1: UNDERSTANDING QUANTUM OF DISRUPTION

We start by contextualising the world as we experience it today and unpack the hypothesis that drove the genesis of this leadership cross-fit intervention. That leadership as we know it today is stuck in mechanistic entrapment of typical Business-School-like thought paradigms, which paralysed their ability to change the polarised world created through the economic drivers embedded in these paradigms. And, unless we break this entrapment, events like COVID will bring further polarisation to the globe, bringing it closer to the tipping point of global shame.

TOPIC 2: THE NARRATIVE OF ECONOMIC FRAGILITY

During this session we take a critical view at the economic systems that shaped the world as we know it today and unpack its perilous impact as it co-contributes to a two-states-world of rich and poor. We correlate this with what business leaders are being taught as they progress to success and ask the peculiar question of what this has to do with the current disrupted world and pandemia.

TOPIC 3: THE DARK SIDE OF VALUE CREATED AND VALUE CAPTURED

During this session look at the rise of China as an economic powerhouse and illustrate the phenomenon that China did not create China, the world did. We show how centralised and single sourcing models, taught at institutions globally as part of the curriculum of internationalising a business, has nullified the risk embedded in such ideocracy, and gave rise to China.

TOPIC 4: TOLERANCE OF AMBIGUITY

During this session we take a turn away from analysing the current and move towards future creation. We break from what we have been taught as leaders, unlearning the fundamentals of failing methodologies, cradled by non-systemic leadership approaches. We engage with three specific future fit leadership skills required: Sense-making, Tolerance of Ambiguity, and Empathy.

TOPIC 5: GOVERNMENT AND LARGE BUSINESS – TWO PEAS IN A POD?

We peek into the future of a world governed by big business. What are the future trends we need to be aware of and how can we impact the current future wave in such way as to benefit all in society, not just some? Comparing similarities between the “COVID-Fascist-Social-Experiment” of governmental super-power and the phenomenon of global dominance of multi-national business conglomerates.

TOPIC 6: TECHNOLOGY – A WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHES?

As we employ technology in many of the proposed future solutions for a troubled present state of the world, we also look at the blind spots in this perceived one-size-fits-all solution. We hold critical and thought-provoking discussions with Thought Leaders in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence and human values and ethics. We delve further into the revulsion highlighted through The Social Dilemma of the commercialisation of human beings through social media following.

TOPIC 7: THE LEADERSHIP REVOLUTION

Based on the HBR Published Platform for Connected Leadership Framework©, in this final session we move beyond the equipped competencies of a typical Leadership Development Program taught globally and expose participants to the recipes of:

  • Thought Leaders revolutionising aged Thought Paradigms and frameworks for strategic competitiveness and balanced financial sustainability
  • Continuous Learners embracing future technologies as enablers for a better world where human and machine intelligences plait together for an imagined ideal future
  • Doers surpassing empty promises and passionate speeches by implementing real change
  • Inspirers focusing on the greatness within each of us across all generations – young and old, harnessing wisdom, imagination, and dreams
